A dedicated Traveling library storytime that delivers a librarian to your preschool or daycare. Our librarians hold a master’s degree in library service and have more than 20 years of experience in public schools and preschool libraries.
We believe storytime is far more than simply being read to. It truly is a gift of adventure – one that every child deserves to receive. From stories to movement to songs, storytime is an essential part of childhood development – emotionally, socially, and academically. Choosing age-appropriate stories helps children make connections to their everyday lives. Stories mirror joy and happiness, help children find comfort with feelings of sadness or nervousness, and empower them by identifying with characters who share differences they recognize about themselves. We also believe storytime should be participatory. Our goal is to get as many students involved in the telling of the story which helps build listening stamina and comprehension.
Research consistently proves that schools with certified librarians achieve higher reading and academic outcomes. But literacy doesn’t begin in kindergarten-it starts at birth. Early childhood is a pivotal window for developing language, vocabulary, and a lifelong love of reading.
